Happy 2009!

Goodbye 2008 and welcome the new year! We spent New Year's Eve and a few days after at Jamie's parents' house. Since we did not see them for Christmas we enjoyed exchanging our gifts and played Pinochle, a Kapes family favorite. Everyone was very tired, but the party girl in me just wanted to stay up at least until midnight to celebrate and watch the ball drop! My celebration included drinking a glass of wine and watching New Year's Rockin' Eve on t.v. with my mother-in-law while Jamie tried to stay awake next to me. Then I kissed my half-asleep husband at midnight, after which we went straight to bed for a good night's sleep! And I wouldn't have had it any other way! 2008 was a terrific year...we welcomed our 2nd nephew into the family shortly after the year started, we settled into our new house, my brother got his license (whether that's a good thing or not is questionable) and began his senior year of high school, Norah and I made a lot of wonderful friends here in CT, Penn State had a great season, and we celebrated Norah's 1st birthday...those are just some of the wonderful things that occured throughout the year. We are looking forward to a fun-filled 2009! I hope everyoone has a healthy, joyous and prosperous year!
